JON P. SEGURA

Jon P. Segura is the newest addition to the Landry, Watkins, Repaske, and Breaux family.  Born and raised on a Sugarcane farm, he has the traditions of New Iberia instilled in him. Whether it was driving a tractor, at the livestock barn, or playing baseball at Rynella ballpark, he was always striving to get better. He is looking forward to continuing his family name in the city of New Iberia in a way different than ever. With his background in agriculture, he wants to give farmers in our community a comfortable place to go to for all legal needs.

Jon intends to practice in numerous areas of law and not be limited to only a specialization. He intends to develop a strong and well-balanced practice area covering business transactions, personal injury, real estate, general litigation, estate planning and successions, family law, agriculture, and other general practice areas.

When asked why he chose to come back to New Iberia and join the Landry Watkins law firm he responded by saying, “Landry Watkins has such deeps roots in this community and that is why I wanted to come and become a part of this family.” He went on to say, “I want to help the clients I represent through any issue they may be having, whether that is a challenging moment in life or learning how to deal day to day obstacles. Coming back home is all about going back to my roots and connecting with the traditions and practices that I was raised on. I want to make sure the people of this city know they can have a familiar and reliable face they can come to and get a high level of legal knowledge and ability right here at home.”

Jon comes from a family of farmers and educators. He is a 7th generation farmer and a member of one of the founding families of New Iberia. In his spare time, he likes to hunt, fish, play golf and softball, spend time with his family, and always loves supporting the purple and gold of LSU.
